What mobile phone carriers does iAlert support to receive all hazard text alerts?

Posted on April 27, 2012 by iAlert.com

iAlert.com provides two options to receive local hazardous alerts such as severe thunderstorm warnings, tornado warnings, civil emergency messages, and more…..by email and/or by SMS text message to your mobile phone.   Mobile phone companies currently supported by iAlert.com are…

  1. AT&T
  2. Verizon
  3. Sprint
  4. Nextel
  5. T-Mobile
  6. MetroPCS
  7. Cricket
  8. Virgin Mobile
  9. Straight Talk
  10. C Spire
  11. Boost Mobile
  12. iWIRELESS
  13. Viaero Wireless

If your mobile company is not listed we will gladly add it if you are willing to help test the SMS text message connection between iAlert.com and your mobile carrier.  Test is quick and simple….you provide us your mobile number and the name of your mobile company through our support page and we send a text message so you can verify it is received.  Once verified we will integrate your mobile company into iAlert.com and you will then be able to configure alerts by SMS text message from inside your account.

Any mobile phone capable of receiving text messages can be used with iAlert.com.  In other words you do not have to have a smartphone like an iPhone or Droid….however experience is always better with smartphones.

NOTE:  Depending on your mobile plan, some companies charge for each text received and it is always recommended you sign-up for unlimited text messaging through your mobile company when using iAlert.com.  Any text message charges received on your mobile bill are between you and your mobile company and not iAlert.com.  iAlert.com is not directly connected to your mobile bill or mobile company.
