This Privacy Policy explains how iAlert Services LLC ("iAlert," "we," or "us") collects, uses, shares, and protects information about visitors to iAlert.com and users of the iAlert weather alert service, including people who receive the service through an authorized iAlert reseller (a "Reseller"). Safeguarding your privacy is serious business. iAlert does not sell or rent your personal information to anyone for money.

We collect the following information:
We use your information to provide and deliver your alerts; verify your email address and phone numbers; send account, security, billing, and service messages; provide customer support; maintain and improve the Service; prevent fraud and abuse; and comply with the law.
We may use and share aggregated or de-identified information that does not reasonably identify you, including Service usage statistics, for research, reporting, and other business purposes. We may share this information with third parties, including partners and Resellers, and in proposals and published materials. We do not attempt to re-identify this information. Reseller-specific reports are limited to each Reseller's own customers.
iAlert does not sell or rent your personal information to anyone for money. We share it only as described below:
We use your mobile phone number to send the alerts you request and the service messages described in our Terms of Service, to verify your number, to keep records of your consent, and for the legal and security purposes described in How We Share Information. We do not use it for marketing. Mobile phone numbers and text message opt-in data and consent are not shared with or sold to third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. Sharing this information with the service providers that deliver our messages, and with the Reseller through which you signed up, is not for marketing purposes. Message frequency varies. Message and data rates may apply. To opt out, reply STOP, UNSUBSCRIBE, CANCEL, END, or QUIT to any iAlert text, with the keyword as the entire reply. This stops text messages to that number from every iAlert account it is linked to; email and voice-phone alerts are not affected. For help, reply HELP or contact support@iAlert.com or 888.316.8366.
If you signed up directly with iAlert, iAlert may send newsletters and information about its own products and services to the email address you provide. You may opt out at any time by using the unsubscribe link or by replying to the email and asking to unsubscribe. If you receive email from iAlert that you did not expect, please contact the iAlert Policy Manager.
Opting out of marketing email does not stop service messages, such as account, security, and billing messages and notices of changes to our Terms of Service or this Privacy Policy.
If you receive the Service through a Reseller, iAlert does not send you newsletters or promotions.
Cookies are pieces of data stored by your web browser containing information related to your use of iAlert services. They are most often used to connect you quickly and easily with your iAlert.com account, and may also be used to estimate iAlert.com's audience size, to identify the areas of the site you visit, to hold session information, and to remember your preferences. Using browser settings, you can accept all cookies, reject all cookies, or ask to be notified when a website attempts to place a cookie. Rejecting all cookies may affect the ease and convenience of your iAlert.com experience. iAlert newsletters and promotional emails contain a small invisible image (a "clear gif" or web beacon) and tracked links that tell us, by email address and IP address, whether an email was opened and which links were clicked. We use this to measure and improve our emails. Alert emails do not contain them. You can prevent open tracking by turning off images in your email program.
iAlert uses Google Analytics to understand how visitors use iAlert.com. Google Analytics uses cookies, and Google handles the information it collects under its own privacy policy. You can opt out of Google Analytics at https://tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout.
iAlert.com does not currently respond to browser Do Not Track signals.
iAlert.com and the Service use cookies and similar technologies, such as your browser's local storage, as described below. Some are set by iAlert and others by the third parties named below.
Most browsers let you block or delete cookies and clear local storage. If you block strictly necessary cookies, you will not be able to sign in or sign up. We do not use cookies to collect your name, email address, or phone number for advertising purposes.
Your web browser automatically reports your current IP address each time you access a web page. Your IP address may be stored in iAlert's database when you register. iAlert may use your IP address to address technical and usage concerns reported by our members, to estimate the number of visitors from geographic areas, and to identify visitors in order to enforce the acceptable use rules in our Terms of Service.
Your browser automatically transmits information to the websites you visit, including iAlert.com. This information may include referral data (the webpage that sent you to iAlert.com), IP addresses, and your browser version. iAlert collects this information to help us improve our services and protect the Service. iAlert also logs the information you submit through registration, forms, surveys, and other entries, cookie data, and communications transmitted through the Service. Only authorized iAlert staff have access to your information in its entirety. Other iAlert staff may have access to portions of this information as required by their duties.
The Service is intended for users age 13 or older. Our registration process is designed for that audience, and we will not knowingly collect any information from children under 13. Because of this age limit, this privacy policy makes no provision for children's use of the Service. If you are a parent or become aware of a child registered under the age of 13, please notify the iAlert Policy Manager as provided at the end of this policy.
Members under eighteen (18) may use the Service only with the permission of a parent or legal guardian.
If your child is under 13 and has become an iAlert member using a false age, please notify the iAlert Policy Manager, who will close the account and delete all personally identifiable information provided by the child. If your child is under the age of 18 and you would like to know more about our site, information practices, stored information on your child, or how to close your child's account, contact the iAlert Policy Manager.
iAlert keeps information submitted by members while the account is active and afterward as long as needed to keep accurate service records and meet legal, billing, security, and fraud-prevention obligations. If required by law, such as the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA), iAlert will delete that information.
If you ask us to delete your information, we will deactivate your account and scramble or delete your personal information, except for records we must keep for legal, billing, security, or fraud-prevention purposes, including records of your consent and of the terms you accepted. Your saved WAVE workspace settings are deleted when you close your account. To make a request, contact the iAlert Policy Manager; we will need to verify your identity before acting on it.
You may access and update your account information at any time in your iAlert account, or through your Reseller if you receive the Service through one. You may also ask us to correct or delete your personal information, and opt out of marketing email. Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under state privacy laws. We will verify your identity before acting on a request, and we will not discriminate against you for making one. If you receive the Service through a Reseller, you may send your request to us or to the Reseller, and the Reseller will forward it to us.
We protect your information with reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards. Pages that collect account information use encryption (HTTPS). However, no method of transmission or storage is completely secure. Members may change their account and profile information at any time. Members may delete information in their accounts, but records may be retained as described under Information Retention.
iAlert stores and processes your information on servers located in the United States. Our service providers may process it in other locations under their own safeguards.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post the revised policy on iAlert.com with a new "Updated" date. For a material change, we will also notify members by email or through their account at least thirty (30) days before the change takes effect, unless applicable law requires a shorter period.
The iAlert Policy Manager will respond to requests sent by mail or email from members, visitors, people who receive the Service through a Reseller, and parents who want to know what personal information iAlert stores about them, want it corrected or deleted, or have other questions about privacy.
